May I suggest replacing the 4mb SIMM you removed and removing the other one
instead? I have the same card and as I remember if you have only 1 4mb
SIMM, you must place it in the second socket from the front of the card.
Maybe it was the first socket, but I think it was the second. That would
cause the card to come up defective at startup, as it wouldn't recognize the
SIMM if it was in the wrong slot.
